LIVING A SEPERATED LIFE (2 CORINTHIANS 6:14-18)
I welcome you to the seventh sunday in the year 2025 and the seventh Covenant Sunday of the nine through which we believe God in a new year. Last week the Lord ministered to us using His servant to receive accelerated divine help for year 2025. I pray that the blessings you have
received through that service shall be permanent in Jesus name.Today, we are looking at the Topic: Living a Seperated Life.
Biblical separation is the recognition that God has called believers out of the world into a personal and corporate purity in the midst of sinful society where we find ourselves. We will look at separation as follows:
Personal separation involves an individual’s commitment to a godly standard of behavior like Daniel practiced personal separatism when he“resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine” (Daniel 1:8) .
Ecclesiastical separation involves the decisions of a church concerning its relationship with other organizations, based on their theology or practices. In Jesus’ letter to the church of Pergamum, He warned against tolerating those who taught false doctrine (Revelation 2:14-15) . The church was to be separate, breaking ties with heresy.A modern example of ecclesiastical
separation could be a denomination’s stance against ecumenical alliances which would unite the church with apostates.
REASONS TO LIVE A SEPARATE LIFE
1. Sin Separates from God.
“Isaiah 59:1–2 “Behold , the Lord ’s hand is not shortened , that it cannot save; Neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, And your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. ”
2. Sin separates us from our Lord.
God commands us to live separate from sin.“1 Peter 1:14–16 “As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, sobe ye holy in all we manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. ”2 Corinthians 6:14–17 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and
be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and It will receive you, God is Holy. There is no sin in Him! He hates sin and can’t look upon it.(Habakkuk 1:13) He must judge sin. But. He wants to be with you. He made a way to separate us from our sin judicially through the Cross. Therefore, we can go to Heaven. Praise God! Now God wants to separate us pract-
ically from sin so we can have an intimate relationship with Him on Earth.
A separated life allows us to enjoy all the rights and privileges of being God’schild.“2 Corinthians 6:18 “And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith
the Lord Almighty. ” The Scripture says that if we “come out from among them” and “be ye separate” and“touch not the unclean thing” that God will receive us and be a Father to us.
In conclusion, as we continue the year 2025 I implore you and your house to be totally free from the world. The lord will strengthen you in Jesus name.Amen
